Activities for Families and other Berliners, 20-22 November


Market of the Continents 

The Christmas Markets begin after this Sunday, which is an official mourning day (called "Totensonntag", Sunday of the Dead). Please note: on the 22nd, flea markets will be closed.

However, you can still start your season with "Market of the Continents" in the Dahlem Museums. The Market (Sat/Sunday) is devoted each week to a specific continent, with music, gifts, food and activities linked to the continent.

  • The Winter World in Potsdamer Platz, until January 3rd. Closed on this Sunday (Totensonntag) but open all week long otherwise. 



  • Bazaar Berlin in the Messe Halle (S Messe Nord or S Messe Sued) includes all kinds of exotic goods. There is an admission fee (Fri/Sat/Sun) 



  • Arena in Treptow have a "Winter Village" with an ice skating rink, stalls for food etc. (Fri/Sat/Sun) [U Schlesische Tor or S Treptow Park and then walk or take the bus for a couple of stops] 
  • FEZ have a puppet theatre festival on Sat/Sun .  Address: Straße zum FEZ 2, 12459 Berlin ; Transport: Tram 63, 27 or 67 to Freizeit- und Erholungszentrum or S3 Train to Wuhlheide. Admission applies. 
  • Fidelio for kids in the Philharmonie, Saturday 3:30 pm
  • The World Championship in Cheerleading, Max-Schmelling-Halle on Sat and Sun 

  • And a Bambini Run at the Tempelhof Airport, on Sunday at 10:00
